MARK BANKS ON ICE – 60 YEARS OF MADNESS

South African comedian Mark Banks has come out of hibernation, even though South African winter is only about to kick-off, to bring you his new one man stand up show – Mark Banks On Ice!

If you enjoyed the recent Disney on Ice or even the 1990’s Holiday on Ice back at the Standard Bank Arena in some dubious area of Johannesburg – this is nothing like those shows at all, except that some nights the Russian All-Star Mints will make a guest appearance.

Unbelievably, this year Mark turns 60-years old and would love audiences to come and celebrate his birthday with him, in what is his favourite way to celebrate: a full-house staring at him longingly and laughing as he talks nonstop for over an hour without anyone talking back to him.

Mark Banks has no idea how these random, outrageous, sometimes obscene thoughts come to him, they just do. Sometimes they come in the form of a dream and other times in the form of a Rottweiler with his grandmother’s face. Both are equally terrifying, but he will continue to pursue these thoughts in order to bring audiences the best in his particular brand of wildly entertaining comedy.

In this completely new show, unlike expired shows, he will discuss all the things you’ve been thinking about – extreme Jo’burg security measures; Elon Musk’s plans for world domination, running into people from your high school who haven’t died yet and coping with life in general!

In Mark Banks on Ice, Mark will amaze you with jokes while jete-ing across the stage; he will wow you with his intellect while pirouetting on one toe; he will stun you with moves that don’t even have a name in French.

Will there be characters? Yes. Will there be plot twists? Definitely. Will there be ice? Hard to say. Mark Banks On Ice is presented in the pulchritudinous redecorated Pieter Toerin studio theatre at Montecasino, and will run for a staggering 80-minutes.

Tickets are priced at an economically pleasant R130 and R180 with, fantastic discounts available for Group Bookings/Seniors and Students. Contact Geraldine on +27-11-511-1988 to book!
