MISS SOUTH AFRICA 2019 ENTRIES CLOSING SOON
Since the call for entries was first announced, a few hundred hopefuls have applied to enter Miss South Africa 2019, with the winner – who takes home cash and prizes worth more than R3-million – set to be crowned on Women’s Day on August 9.
Entries are open at www.misssa.co.za and will close on June 10 with 16 finalists – all of whom will receive R25 000 – will be announced on July 11. The Miss South Africa Organisation has made the entry process as easy as possible, which means there are no forms to download and no regional auditions to which hopefuls have to travel.
“You must really want it. You need drive, passion and stamina! Miss South Africa should also have a serving heart, be relatable, generous and passionate about empowering other women and girls. Never underestimate the power of one. You need to shine as the best form of yourself. Always be authentic and talk and act from the heart. Don’t pretend to be something you are not. It is hard to comprehend just how big the Miss South Africa platform is and the opportunities it offers the title holder. It is bigger than I ever could have imagined. I found myself in the position where my voice was heard. However, this comes with an immense responsibility. You are able to help as many people as you can. You have to seize the opportunity and run with it. It really does transform your life.”
– Reigning Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green
Last year, just short of 500 young women entered the pageant despite entry process being opened for a much longer period, and this record has already been broken. The 2019 Miss South Africa pageant will be held at Sun International’s Sun Arena at Times Square, Pretoria, and will be broadcast live on both M-Net and Mzanzi Magic.
